A touch of spring is in the air as we approach mid-term. We are pleased to announce that planning for extra classrooms/library room/technology room are now at the tender stage. Work will be undertaken during the summer weeks, le cúnamh Dé. Monies are limited in the times we live in and the school will need funding to equip those rooms after construction.

With that in mind, you are asked to support one of our stalwart fundraisers which is “Predict the Teachers Time” in the local ‘Ballycotton 10’ road race. This year the mantle has again fallen on Ailbhe Ní Loingsigh (Múinteoir) and you are asked to predict her time. If you do you can win one of the following locally sponsored prizes (Dinnéar x 2 or Lón x 2 in Aherne’s Restaurant)

Each family is allocated one card, with more available on request.

Briseadh Tearma:
Beidh an scoil dunta (closed) Déardaoin 24ú agus Aoine 25ú Feabhra

Fáilte ar ais go 2011. The school community reverts back to routine after snowy conditions and the Christmas Holidays. Many thanks to all who helped to make our Christmas Concert a great success.

Sláinte:
Everyone is advised to maximize personal hygiene, i.e. washing of hands, use of soaps, sterile gel (where available) etc. This should be practised at home as well as at school, to avoid spreading all types of flu virus, moreover swine flu. If your child is sick or has a temperature, do not send them to school, in their own interest and their classmates.

Lón: Ensure that lunch sizes are age appropriate. Avoid all types of junk food.

School Contact Details: You will receive a school contact form during the week which needs to be filled and returned i.e. home address, updated phone numbers of parents/guardians etc. It is important that the entire form is filled in and returned to your class teacher a.s.a.p. Thanking you for your co-operation.

Bainne: Milk this term amounts to €13. This provides milk at a subsidized rate up to Easter which is very little. Milk for your child at school for a week costs less than one fizzy drink and is far more beneficial. Ól Bainne Úr.

Athbhliain fé mhaise.
